Greene & Phillips Supports Literacy with Boys & Girls Club of South Alabama
At Greene & Phillips, we’re passionate about giving back to our community. One way we do this is through promoting literacy and education, particularly among students. That’s why we were thrilled to partner with the Boys & Girls Club of South Alabama at their recent Gulf Coast Book Festival and read to children from kindergarten to fifth grade.
The Importance of Literacy
Reading opens a whole new world for children. Literacy is a fundamental building block for success in school and throughout life. It helps children develop essential skills such as:
- Improved communication
- Enhanced critical thinking
- Expanded vocabulary
- Increased knowledge
- Greater empathy and understanding of the world around them
Our Involvement with the Boys & Girls Club
Greene & Phillips lawyers, staff, and family took time to read to students attending the 2024 Gulf Coast Book Festival. The Judge even made an appearance! It was amazing to see the young faces light up as they were immersed in stories. We believe events like this foster young minds and instill a lifelong love of reading. Along with hosting a story stage. The firm donated water and provided the use of both of our tents.
“Literacy is about more than just reading words on a page,” said David Greene, founding partner of Greene & Phillips. “It’s about igniting imagination, fostering creativity, and empowering the next generation.”
